Admission

 

Admission to the Specialist level will require admission to the Graduate School, a Master's degree from an accredited institution, and a satisfactory score on the GRE, MAT, or GMAT.

Admission to Candidacy (after completion of 42 hours of graduate work with a 3.00 GPA) requires:

An interview with the Community College Coordinator. The Coordinator will review the progress of the student, examine the student's commitment, and make preliminary plans concerning CCED 7033 Special Problems and CCED 7023 Field Study. (The Coordinator may consult with the teaching field advisor and/or an outside advisory person.)

Candidates for the Specialist degree are required to complete a minimum of 30 semester hours of graduate work. Candidates must complete a minimum of 18 semester hours of resident credit from Arkansas State University. Twelve semester hours may be earned in approved non-resident classes offered by Arkansas State University. A maximum of nine semester hours of graduate credit may be transferred from other approved institutions.
