This is information I received April 11, 2006 regarding Fall 06 registration using the new "Banner" system. The message from the university says I (as your advisor) have your new PIN #. That is not true. Your PIN for Banner has been reset to your original PIN (Date of birth with two digit day, two digit month, and last two digits of the year).

To assist with advising and the many questions about registration, the following information can be printed and given to your advisees. 

Fall 2006 Registration in Banner System 

Fall registration is here, along with a new computer system called Banner.  You can look at the Fall schedule and have limited access to other services in Banner.  Here is how to login to Banner: 

1) Go to the Web for Students home page. (You can find it via the “A-Z index” on the http://www.astate.edu main page.)  This page has a link to Fall 2006 Registration.  The link takes you to Banner.  There you will be asked for your User ID.   

2) Enter your User ID.  Your User ID is your ASU ID number 

3) Enter your PIN.  On the log-in page, you will see a message that says, “All PINs for Fall 2006 have been reset. Your Advisor will inform you of your new PIN #.  When changing your PIN #, it must be numeric.”  Your PIN for Banner has been reset to your original PIN (Date of birth with two digit day, two digit month, and last two digits of the year). This will probably be different from your password in the old Web for Students system, because you have likely changed that old password.  

4) Create a new PIN after logging in.  Once you login, you will be prompted to change your PIN# and to answer a security remembrance question.  Simply create a new, all-numeric pin.
