Inorganic Chemistry | Experiment 10 | Fall 2002 |
[Co(NH3)4CO3]NO3 and [Co(NH3)5Cl]Cl2
The experiment is to be performed as described in Angelici's Synthesis and Technique in Inorganic Chemistry, with the following change: You are to include the visible spectra for both compounds prepared in this lab experiment.
The lab report should be completed by 5:00 pm Friday, Nov. 22, 2002. This experiment is worth 40 points of your lab grade. No late reports will be accepted.
The lab reports should include the following information:
Introduction: Brief summary of the experiment stating the purpose of the experiment.
Experimental: List work that you have done. DO NOT copy the instructions directly from the lab book. Include information on the number of grams and moles of reagents, yields of products.
Results: Give experimental results (data) obtained from the experiments.
Discussion: Discuss the experiment from preparation to results. You
may want to support your conclusions with references. These should
be clearly documented. You may want to discuss possible problems with the
experiment and suggest ways of improving the experiment. Most of
the grade will depend on this section.
**NOTE: The lab reports must be typed (double spaced), preferrably on a word processor. Points will be deducted for sloppy reports.
