To model the potential substrate/ catalyst interactions which may occur during the hydrodesulfurization (HDS) of dibenzothiophene over RuS₂, we have explored the reactions of CpRu(PPh₃)₂Cl with a series of organosulfur compounds.  Ligands include thiols, thioamides (scheme 1) and cyclothioethers (scheme 2).  We have synthesized and structurally characterize a variety of new organometallic complexes featuring sulfur ligation. Diamond () indicates compound has been structurally characterized.
